MEET TOMMY
LOCAL VETERAN SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
My wife, Paula, and I have been residents of Madison for 32 years. Paula retired from the Madison City School System and is now teaching at St. John the Baptist Catholic School. We have one son, Thomas, an Eagle Scout, who graduated from Bob Jones High School and the University of North Alabama. Thomas and his wife, Natalie, live in the Nashville area and have three daughters, Kennedy and Audrey, and Shelby.

A veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm, I retired as a Lt. Colonel from the Alabama National Guard after 30 years of service. During that time, I was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal.
I received my Accounting degree and my Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Aalabama, and I worked in education as a district technology coordinator for 26 years. During that time, I was awarded the Marbury Technology Innovation Award from the Alabama Department of Education, and the "Making IT Happen" award from the International Society of Technology in Education, and the Sally Moore Memorial Technology Leadership Award by the Alabama Leaders in Educational Technology. I was also named by ComputerWorld Magazine as one of their Premier Technology Leaders in 2017. I was also one of the first professionals in the nation to obtain the Certified Education Technology Leader certification issued by the Consortium of School Networking.
